    Default Spicy Spaghetti Pie

    Spicy Spaghetti Pie Recipe

    • 1 Batch Spicy Meatballs
    • 1 Batch Spicy Tomato Sauce
    • 1 LB Spaghetti Pasta
    • 1 1/2 C Ricotta Cheese
    • 2 Eggs
    • 1/3 C Parmesan Cheese, grated
    • 3 C Mozarella cheese, shredded
    • 1 Red Onion, sliced thinly and sauteed
    • Salt and Pepper to taste
Cook pasta to al dente and cool in large bowl. While pasta is cooling, mix ricotta cheese, egss, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. When pasta is cool, add mixture to pasta and press in 9" springform pan.

Add sauteed onion slices to top along with 2 TBSP butter. Bake or smoke at 325 for 15 minutes.

Add 1-2 C Spicy Tomato Sauce and then spread 1 1/2 C Mozarella cheese on top. Slice Spicy Meatballs in half and add to top. Then add 1-2 C more sauce and the remaining Mozarella cheese.

Bake in oven or smoker until bubbly and cheese starts to brown. Let rest and slice to serve. Consider serving with grated Parmesan cheese.

Paul, how was the pasta to sauce/cheese/meatball ratio? Would you stay with the pound of pasta?

Sorry for the delayed response Char.

I thought the ratio of ingredients worked well. I had plenty of meatballs and sauce left over that could be served on the side for those who want more goodies.
